The Bones Tell the Story
HEI's extensive and well documented temporal bone collection is even more valuable given advances in molecular biology (RNA and DNA recovery), immunohistochemistry and advanced imaging techniques. A recent contract from the National Institutes of Health will help extend these research tools globally.
 
Making Connections
Children who have received cochlear implants have an advocate at school. Melinda Gillinger, educational liaison in HEI's Children's Auditory and Research Evaluation Center, helps schools extend the therapies of the clinical setting to the demands of  life in the classroom.

House Ear Team Makes a House Call
In conjunction with Global ENT Outreach, a group of physicians and audiologists from House Ear Clinic traveled to Ethiopia on a 3-week medical mission, providing hearing tests and treatment to patients at two hospitals in Addis Ababa.
