Joey Perlmutter has been in
not-for-profit healthcare management for
nearly 30 years with experience in
physician administration and
fundraising. Her combined expertise is
well suited to the mission of the House
Ear Institute, which she joined in 2003
as Executive Director, Major Gift
Development. In this position, Joey
identified, cultivated, solicited and
stewarded major donors. Joey was
recently promoted to Vice President,
Institutional Relations, where she
addresses Board development, policies
and procedures, bylaws, and other
management systems designed to
strengthen relationships. She has also
made innovative changes at the Institute
to enhance communication between
management and staff through a newly
appointed Senior Management Group. Joey
plays an integral role in the
Institute’s Campaign for Building a
Sound Future, working with donors who
support the Institute’s mission.
Before coming to HEI, Joey’s career was
at the Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.
As the Executive Director of Development
she was responsible for fundraising for
the replacement hospital following the
Northridge earthquake. Prior to that,
Joey was Director of Physician Services,
managing a medical staff of 800 private
practice physicians.
Joey writes non-fiction articles that
have been published in periodicals for
healthcare executives. She has been
recognized by numerous awards for
dedicated service to physicians,
volunteer service organizations, and the
communities where she works and resides.
