Laurel M. Fisher, Ph.D.
Associate Director of Clinical Studies
 
Laurel M. Fisher, Ph.D., is the Associate Director of the Department of Clinical Studies at the House Ear Institute (HEI). Dr. Fisher earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Psychology from California State University, Fresno. She earned her doctorate in Cognitive Aging from the Department of Psychology at the University of Southern California.

Dr. Fisher joined the House Ear Institute after serving as a biostatistician at Advanced Bionics Corporation for several years, where she managed the collection and analysis of clinical trial data, and provided statistical support to other departments. At the House Ear Institute, Dr. Fisher manages the Clinical Studies Department staff and oversees every aspect of clinical trial development, from budget development and creation of protocols to data collection and report submission.

Her current research at HEI includes clinical trials regarding Meniere’s Disease funded by the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Foundation and the National Organization of Hearing Research, and the Natural History of Neurofibromatosis Type 2 Consortium, funded by the Department of Defense.
Dr. Fisher is a member of the American Statistical Association – Biopharmaceutical Section, the Society for Clinical Trials, and the American Psychological Society. Her work has been published in a number of publications including Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, Otology and Neurotology,
Annals of Otology, Rhinology & Laryngology, and the American Journal of Otology.
