In-School Teen Workshops in Hearing Conservation
Are Available in So. California

Now middle schools and high schools throughout Southern California have an opportunity to give their teen students the face-to-face facts about noise-induced hearing loss, compliments of House Ear Institute’s teen initiative, It’s How You Listen that Counts®.  This program is based on House Ear Institute’s successful online initiative launched in January. 2006, and has received rave reviews from several teachers and students who have hosted our workshops to-date.

"I thoroughly enjoyed the presentation
that you prepared for us. I had no idea
how complex the ear is, and the long-term effects of listening to loud sounds."

 L. Stevens, high school student,
Glendale, CA

"We learned extraordinary things we never knew about the ear, and got some helpful tips. The earplugs are greatly appreciated and I'm sure that they will come in handy
for all the students."

 L. Kavarian, high school student,
Glendale, CA

"It was indeed a very informative and engaging workshop and I know based on what my students have said that they were truly impressed."
 O. Tuason, instructor, Crescenta Valley
High School

"I want to say thank you for the awesome presentation!! I really enjoyed learning
about the importance of the hearing system and how we can prevent hearing problems. Today I tried listening to my IPod with
lower sound than before because now I
know how important it is to protect our hearing."

 A. Woo, student, Glendale, CA
