Jose N. Fayad, M.D., works as an Associate at the House Clinic in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Fayad received his medical degree from University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France. Following an otolaryngology residency at the University's Hospital Purpan in Toulouse, he completed a research fellowship at the House Ear Institute in Los Angeles and another at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center in New York.
He then completed a residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, followed by a Clinical Fellowship in Otology/Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the House Clinic. Dr. Fayad is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery and the French Board of Otolaryngology.
Dr. Fayad's research interests include microsurgical anatomy for optimal electrode placement with cochlear implants and auditory brainstem implants, cochlear implant and middle ear implant surgery, hearing preservation in acoustic tumor surgery, and surgery for otosclerosis.
Dr. Fayad is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association and the American Neurotology Society. He has been an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anatomy at the University of Southern California (USC) and an Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University, New York. He sits on the Editorial Review Board of several peer-reviewed publications, including Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Otology & Neurotology, Revue Otologie Rhinologie Laryngologie and is author and co-author of more than 50 papers and book chapters on hearing disorders. The recipient of achievement awards in his field, Dr. Fayad has presented more than 100 papers at medical symposiums and conferences.
