Need a Hearing Health Expert to Speak at Your Next Meeting or Event? If your Southern California organization would like a knowledgeable hearing health professional or researcher to speak at your next meeting or conference event, look no further than the world renowned hearing science experts at the House Reserach Institute. Our physicians, scientists and community outreach staff are stepping out into the community to help educate people about a wide range of popular hearing health topics, including hearing loss, balance disorders, prevention, treatment and new discoveries on the horizon.
In-School Teen Workshops in Hearing Conservation
Now middle schools and high schools throughout Southern California have an opportunity to give their teen students the face-to-face facts5 about noise-induced hearing loss, compliments of House Research Institute's teen initiative, It's How You Listen that Counts®. This program is based on House Research Institute's successful online initiative launched in January. 2006, and has received rave reviews from several teachers and students who have hosted our workshops to-date.
Capacity: The workshops can be held for a min. of 30 students to a max. of 1,500 per day. Workshops can accommodate small classrooms or school auditoriums.
Time Schedule: Allow for a 20 to 30 minute presentation and a 20 minute Q&A.
Format: A representative from House Research Institute engages the teens with both audio and visual demonstrations on the topic of noise-induced hearing loss and its prevention. It's tailored with teen interests in mind.
Student Hand-outs: Flyers, earplugs and classroom posters are among the materials distributed to the students. Earbud.org t-shirt giveaways and contest prizes can also be made available.
