Children's Auditory Research and Evaluation
(CARE) Center

The Children's Auditory Research and Evaluation (CARE) Center of the House Ear Institute is actively involved in the education of hearing healthcare professionals, researchers, graduate students, parents and educators. For graduate students in audiology and speech and language pathology we offer the following:  The House Ear Institute frequently hosts visiting professionals including physicians, audiologists and speech and language pathologists. These professionals observe CARE Center procedures and sometimes participate in seeing patients. To promote parent education, we have developed a Parent Resource Library at the CARE Center which has a comprehensive collection of educational and informative books and videos. Parents are urged to browse through the library and check out any books or videos of interest to them.  The clinical staff provides a comprehensive booklet regarding hearing loss and hearing aids for parents of children who are newly diagnosed. We have also hosted parent seminars and educational seminars for other hearing healthcare professionals.
