| I. From the West Side a) from LAX (LA International Airport)- Leaving airport, follow signs to Century Blvd. Take San Diego Freeway (#405) north. (Entrance will be on the right hand side, after passing under the freeway.) Travel north on the #405 to the Santa Monica Freeway (#10) east (toward Los Angeles). Travel east about 8 miles. Exit Hoover Street, turn left. Travel north on Hoover, branch to the right at Alvarado. Travel north on Alvarado to Third Street and turn left. Turn left on Lake Street, and left again, into the Institute's parking entrance. b) from Beaches (Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu) - Travel east on the Santa Monica Freeway (#10) about 8 miles. Exit Hoover Street, turn left. Travel north on Hoover, branch to the right at Alvarado. Continue north on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn left on Third Street; make an immediate left turn on Lake Street, and left again, into the Institute's parking entrance. c) from Brentwood-Westwood areas - Take San Diego Freeway (#405) south; take the Santa Monica Freeway (#10) east toward Los Angeles; Travel east about 8 miles. Exit Hoover Street, turn left. Travel north on Hoover, branch to the right at Alvarado. Travel north on Alvarado to Third Street and turn left, then left on Lake Street, and left again, into the Institute's parking entrance.. d) from Beverly Hills-Fairfax-West Hollywood areas - Either follow as in "b" above, OR travel east on Third Street for about 8 miles to Alvarado. Turn right one block before Alvarado, on Lake St, then left again, into the Institute's parking entrance. II. From San Fernando Valley: a) from west end (including Santa Barbara, Ventura, Thousand Oaks, Woodland Hills, Encino, Northridge, Van Nuys, etc.): Travel east on Ventura Freeway (#101) Travel south on the Hollywood Freeway (#101), exit on Alvarado; Turn right; Travel south on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn right on Third Street; make an immediate left on Lake Street, and left into the Institute's parking entrance. b) from east end (Glendale, Burbank, Sun Valley, Eagle Rock, etc.): Take either the #134 or #5 Freeways to Echo Park Freeway (#2). Travel south on #2 to the end of the freeway (keep to the left) You will then be traveling south on Glendale Avenue. From Glendale Avenue branch right (south) onto Alvarado. Continue traveling south on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn right on Third Street; make an immediate left on Lake Street, and left into the Institute's parking entrance. c) from north side (including Bakersfield, Sylmar, etc.) : Take the interstate #5 (Golden State Freeway) south to the Hollywood Freeway (#170). Travel south on the Hollywood Freeway (which turns in to the #101). Stay on the #101 south bound, exit on Alvarado; Turn right; Travel south on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn right on Third Street; make an immediate left on Lake Street, and left into the Institute's parking entrance. III. From the East Side a) (including Palm Springs, Las Vegas, San Bernardino, Arcadia, Alhambra, Monterrey Park,): Travel west on either the San Bernardino Freeway (#10) or the Pomona Freeway (#60) to the east L. A. interchange. Take route #101 (Hollywood Freeway) through the downtown area, past the four-level interchange. Once past downtown, exit at Alvarado Street and turn left. Travel south on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn right on Third Street; make an immediate left on Lake Street and left into the Institute's parking entrance. b) from Pasadena Option 1: Travel west on the #210 (Foothill Freeway) continuing west on the #134, then south on the #2 to the end of the freeway. You will then be traveling south on Glendale Avenue. From Glendale Avenue branch right (south) onto Alvarado. Continue traveling south on Alvarado to Third Street. Turn right on Third Street; make an immediate left on Lake Street and left into the Institute's parking entrance. Option 2: Travel south on the #110 (Pasadena Freeway). Upon reaching the downtown area, exit at Second Street. Turn left on Beaudry and then right onto Third Street (the next stop light). Travel west for about 2 miles to Alvarado Street. One block past Alvarado, turn left on Lake Street, and left again, into the Institute's parking entrance. IV. From South L.A. a) Western coastal areas- (Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Torrance, etc.) Travel north on the Harbor Freeway (#110) to downtown Los Angeles Exit at Third Street west. Travel west for about 2 miles to Alvarado Street. One block past Alvarado, turn left on Lake Street. and left again, into the Institute's parking entrance. b) Long Beach area- (Compton, Lynwood, South Gate)
