Post-doctoral Position in Developmental Biology


The laboratory of Dr. Andres Collazo in the department of Cell and Molecular Biology has an opening for a full time Post-Doctoral Scientist. The main goal of the laboratory of research is to determine which molecules and regions of the otic placode are required for the normal patterning of the developing inner ear. The studies will be conducted in the frog, Xenopus laevis, a popular model system for developmental studies. Strong cell and molecular biology experience is required. Previous experience working with Xenopus or zebrafish desirable but not necessary.


The Department of Cell and Molecular Biology is located in modern, recently renovated laboratories at the House Ear Institute. The Institute is a private research facility affiliated with the University of Southern California. The laboratory houses state-of-the-art cell and molecular biology facilities, as well as an extensive imaging core which includes two brand new laser scanning confocal microscopes.
