Research Audiologist for the Age-related Hearing Impairment project

This full-time 40-hours per week position will recruit, consent, and test House Ear Clinic patients for the Age-related Hearing Impairment internally-funded project. The audiologist must have a current license in the state of California. The audiologist must have experience in administering the following tests: Pure-tone air/bone conduction thresholds, speech reception threshold, speech discrimination, distortion product otoacoustic emissions, and Hearing in Noise Test. Auditory Brainstem Response experience helpful.

Recruitment may include mail-outs, processing individuals referred directly from the Clinic, or a combination of both. The audiologist will be trained in Good Clinical Practices and undergo the mandatory Human Subjects Protection training. The audiologist will be trained in informed consent procedures, as described in the Clinical Studies Clinical Coordinator Manual. The audiologist will attend the monthly Clinical Studies Clinical Coordinator meetings. The audiologist will be tasked to geno-phenotyping studies only and cannot be tasked to routine Clinical Studies tasks or to new studies.
